Coyotes Cheaping Out on Crucial Event Will Have Them Kicked Out of Arizona
Yesterday, Arizona held its vote on the new arena for the Coyotes, and the citizens of Tempe have spoken.
There will not be a new amphitheater.
This is a major blow for Gary Bettman, who campaigned hard for the return of the Coyotes to Arizona. Now, it seems that relocation is the most probable scenario.
Coyotes Cheaping Out on Crucial Event Will Have Them Kicked Out of Arizona
As reported by Frank Seravalli, the NHL made a significant error in their campaign for the new arena:
"The Coyotes side spent less than $250,000 to activate the vote, opting for a bootstrap campaign, while the opposition spent upwards of $2 million, backed by high-powered labor unions who have not received a guarantee that they will be the ones building the project."
The Coyotes' opposition simply invested more money than the NHL in their campaign.
If the Coyotes are relocated, Quebec City, Sacramento, Houston, and Salt Lake City are the most probable destinations.
