Linus Ullmark blocks the possibility of a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs

The Boston Bruins are reportedly looking to trade Linus Ullmark but the Toronto Maple Leafs won't be in on him.

The Bruins netminder has a 15-team no-trade list and the Maple Leafs are absolutely on that list according to NHL insider David Pagnotta. Interestingly, Pagnotta also revealed that the Ottawa Senators are on his no-trade list. However, he may be open to waiving it if a deal with the team were to materialize. Notably, Ullmark rejected a trade with the LA Kings at the trade deadline this season by refusing to waive his no-trade clause.

The Leafs are not in the mix for Ullmark, though, as Toronto is on his no-trade list. Ottawa is also believed to be on his list, but two separate sources have told me he would accept a trade to the Senators if a deal between the two teams is finalized.

This is especially relevant as the Ottawa Senators are rumored to be heavily pursuing Ullmark this offseason. The team has been looking for a new goaltender for some time now and it seems like Ullmark might be their guy.

It would certainly be a sad day for many NHL fans if Ullmark is traded as it would breakup the tandem with Jeremy Swayman. However, it would likely be best for the Bruins as they would be able to reallocate their cap space to boost their skaters. The Senators are rumored to have offered the 7th overall pick in this year's draft as well as defenseman Jakob Chychrun for the goaltender, which is certainly an enticing package.

For the most part I think #NHLBruins fans can agree, we love Linus Ullmark. He brings a lot to the table and has been a standout part of this team for the last 3 seasons. But if the rumours are true and you can somehow get Chychrun & the 7th overall pick from Ottawa, you do it.

It seems as though a trade could be imminent so be sure to keep an eye on the Bruins over the coming days to see what happens with Linus Ullmark.
