BREAKING: Two Blackhawks Break Their Silence On The Corey Perry Situation
Two of Corey Perry's former teammates have commented on his termination and have revealed their true thoughts on the matter.
Foligno And Murphy Comment On Perry's Termination
Since Corey Perry's contract termination, all eyes have been on the Chicago Blackhawks and how they have responded to the situation. Locker room leader Nick Foligno has commented on the matter:
"There was a little bit of a lull on that road trip, when the dust settled and you realized [Corey is] really not coming back,» Foligno said. «You could tell the energy he brings...was missing. You mourn that loss, and then you realize, Alright, it's not changing, so what are we going to do to get the energy back?' We realized other guys have to step up.
A younger guy is more willing to speak up and more comfortable in a home environment. You get to chat with them more about their lives. Little things come out of those dinners that help the bonding experience.'' - Nick Foligno
Veteran defenseman Connor Murphy also shared his thoughts on the matter:
"I come from some experience of just being here, having some comfort with the staff and team, and knowing what we've been through and what doesn't work. Knowing [my way] around can help with anyone who's either uncomfortable or seems like they're trying to find themselves in a new organization." - Connor Murphy
They are missing Perry on and off the ice but Perry's actions were inexcusable and have removed him from the team. Only time will tell if GM Kyle Davidson moves for another player to replace Perry or if they will rely on their current crop of players to fill the void.
