The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Connor Bedard first overall this past summer. After adding the young superstar to the roster they wanted to surround him with veterans to help his transition into the NHL. One of those veterans is Nick Foligno who had a hilarious interaction with Bedard last night.

Funny Moment Between Bedard And Foligno Caught On A Hot-Mic

Last night Blackhawks veteran forward Nick Foligno was mic'd up for his team's game. Most of the time these moments don't lead to many fun or interesting moments. However, last night Foligno made a hilarious comment on his process of mentoring Connor Bedard.

There's so much to teach you I don't have enough contract time. I'm gonna have to stay in Chicago like five more years after I retire.

This must've sparked Bedard to prove he didn't need Foligno to succeed because he ended up going off last night.

Bedard Shines In Biggest Breakout Of The Season

Connor Bedard had incredibly high expectations heading into this season. For the most part, Bedard has lived up to expectations even with injuries in the way. Last night Bedard showed how truly special he can be with a five-point game.

A blast from Bedard!

A five-point night for this rookie

Last night with the @NHLBlackhawks, Connor Bedard became the 5th 18-year-old in NHL history to achieve a 5-point game.

Bedard joins an elite list of rookie forwards who were able to accomplish this feat and amass five points in a game as a rookie.

CONNOR BEDARD. FIVE POINTS.

Despite the lack of team success for the Blackhawks Bedard has shown hope for the future of the franchise.
