The Columbus Blue Jackets have once again struggled to compete at the level many expected. This led to a major move involving to stars on the team.

Blue Jackets Stun Fans With Unexpected Move

The Columbus Blue Jackets added another loss to their total last night after falling to the Arizona Coyotes 3-2. The final score was not the most interesting part of the night as Blue Jackets head coach Pascal Vincent sent a message to his team benching two players.

Both Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine had their limits completely cut late in the game against the Coyotes.

Patrik Laine and Johnny Gaudreau were both benched in the team's loss tonight

This caused major commotion among the Blue Jackets fans who were shocked and left wondering what their stars had done to deserve this. After the game head coach Pascal Vincent addressed what happened.

Blue Jackets Head Coach Addresses Benching Major Stars

After the game Blue Jackets head coach Pascal Vincent was able to comment on what happened during the game and why players were benched.

#CBJ coach Pascal Vincent on Johnny Gaudreau, who was benched for the final 16+ minutes of the third period in a 2-1 loss to #ALLCaps.

Vincent's comments refer to the team over an individual. He believes Gaudreau can contribute when he gets his feet moving and plays with speed. Vincent felt this was not the case last night which is why he was benched.

Whatever the case may be the Blue Jackets need to get back on track quickly. They are paying Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine a lot of money to help the team make the playoffs. At the moment that is not happening and needs to improve immediately before it's too late.
