Former NHLer Calls Mike Babcock a 'Bully' and a 'Scumbag'
Mike Babcock has earned quite a reputation in the NHL. His outdated coaching style doesn't resonate well with certain players.
After the latest rumors emerged about his hiring in Columbus, a former NHLer spoke out about the coach.
Comrie Calls Babcock a 'Bully' and a 'Scumbag'
On the Clear the Crease Podcast, Mike Comrie didn't hold back.
"Morning, folks. I was going to leave this alone because frankly, I'm sick and tired of seeing Mike Babcock's name in all my feeds, but here we are. Mike Babcock, head coach, back in the NHL. Babs the bully gets another chance. Am I disappointed? Yes, I am disappointed. Am I surprised? No, I'm not. His whole retirement thing was a load of horseshit right off the bat."
"I'm sure he walked into the Columbus office and told the brass whatever they wanted to hear. 'Oh, I've changed,' blah blah blah, which is another load of horseshit. Babs the bully ain't changing. Scumbags like that don't change. With all due respect to my buddies within the Blue Jackets organization, I hope this Babcock experiment is a complete disaster on every single level."
He clearly doesn't like the coach and wanted to let the world know it.
He has a good point. Can someone change that much? His style won't be welcomed in the Blue Jackets' locker room. Considering how it ended with John Tortorella, the team doesn't seem to respond well to old-school ways of coaching.
