Adam Fantilli's first NHL game hasn't even officially started yet, and the rookie is already stirring things up with the NHL. Much like Connor Bedard did a few nights ago, the most recent third-overall pick has decided to go against the NHL's wishes and will be punished for it.

Fantilli To Be Fined

Adam Fantilli's first NHL game is tonight, but warmups have already occurred. It's commonplace for rookies to get a "rookie lap" in before the rest of the team takes the ice, but Fantilli chose to go the extra mile.

As he took the ice for the first time as an NHLer, Adam Fantilli was noticeably missing his helmet, which is a direct violation of the NHL's rules regarding warmups.

🚨 ROOKIE LAP FOR FANTILLI 🚨

The NHL now requires players to wear helmets during warmups, with the punishment for failing to do so being a fine of $2,500. Although this is meant to deter players from going helmet-less during warm-ups, this hasn't stopped rookies from breaking the rule thus far this year.

Copycat or Trendsetter?

Fantilli is not the first player to refuse to wear his helmet during warm-ups this season, with both Connor Bedard and Kevin Korschinski doing so a couple of nights ago in their NHL debut.

No bucky Bedard hits the ice for his Rookie Lap

Is this merely a case of Fantilli copying Bedard, or is he trying to send a message to the NHL regarding this seemingly pointless rule? After all, it would be a crime not to show off the glorious hair that Fantilli has!
