The latest rumor of many involving Patrik Laine, sees him being traded by the Columbus Blue Jackets to a perennial Eastern conference contender.
Many people thought the Montreal Canadiens were going to land Laine, however after the latest developments by sources around the league, it appears the powerhouse Carolina Hurricanes are now in the driver's seat to trade for him.
🚨 NHL Rumor Alert! 🚨 Is Patrik Laine heading to the Carolina Hurricanes? 👇

Laine is from Finland, and the Hurricanes already have a lot of Finnish players on their team, so that would definitely be appealing to Laine if he were to join the Canes. Laine would also be able to mentor some of the younger wingers on the team and get their point production up. It's no secret that Laine was not the player he knew he could be in Columbus, so playing on a better team would definitely help him.
Hurricanes to do list:
Sign Jarvis to long-term deal
Sign Necas to decent/long-term deal (or trade for Ehlers)
Pursue Laine trade (possibly a package that includes Jesperi Kotkaniemi)
#Canes #CauseChaos Trade talks are really going to heat up even more once Laine gets out of the NHL's Player Assistance Program, as he is forbidden to discuss anything trade related with other NHL teams while he's in there. Expect some big news over the next few weeks.
