The Edmonton Oilers have come under plenty of criticism for their continued playoff failures in recent years, but with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl at the helm, they'll always be confident they can find success.
A superstar tandem
In 2022-23, these two combined for an incredible 281 points, and while the playoff success is yet to be there, if the depth can be improved on the team, 2023-24 could be the year of the next big step.
However, some have come out and called for the pair to be broken up or predicted that one or both will want to leave when their contracts end in Edmonton, but now, one insider has given a massive update on their situation.
Alberta bound long-term
Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff has provided a huge update on the situation on his latest podcast, claiming that the two will almost certainly stick around for a long time to come.
I think there's a 90% some chance that both McDavid and Draisaitl are Edmonton Oilers for a long, long time.
If the Oilers can find the right combination around these two, we could be looking at the next NHL dynasty, and with plenty of years left on their body, if they can stick together, this could be the best duo in NHL history.
