Evander Kane reveals his plans to stay in Edmonton
Despite concerns for his health, veteran NHL forward Evander Kane shared his plans to use his no-move clause to block any trades that prevent his stay with the Edmonton Oilers.
The Edmonton Oilers have had their hands tied in dealing with veteran forward Evander Kane. After reports of causing issues with teammates at the bench and in the locker room, the former Shark has even had beef with Sportsnet reporter Mark Spector.
"In case you're wondering why Mark Spector is viciously attacking Kane's character recently:
Evander Kane laughed at Mark, didn't feed his narrative and put him in his place a couple of days ago for not even knowing that he was never on the Oilers Powerplay."
However, his biggest struggle this past season came on the ice. Evander Kane had suffered through a sports hernia the entire season, and could not play to his full potential in the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs, even in the finals against the Florida Panthers.

With his history of divisiveness and health issues, many fans were worried Evander Kane would not be part of the Oilers next season. However, according to the Two Mutts Hockey Podcast, the 32-year-old forward is already on his way to recovery and playing golf with friends. They also reported that Kane wants to remain in Edmonton for this next season, and will exercise his no-move clause if necessary.
"Based on reports we've gotten over the last 48 hours @EdmontonOilers forward @evanderkane should be fully recovered & healthy by September when training camp opens up.
Kane has been able to do some activities, he's been golfing with his friends in Edmonton & enjoying life as he should be. He's also built a new home in Edmonton & the community has treated him very well as he's also treated the community well in return. It's been a great fit for both sides. He wants to be apart of this winning culture, he's been adding to it since be got to Edmonton.
The health is the most serious thing here, it sounds like it's been getting better for Kane. Which is a huge positive.
With him in the Oilers lineup they look like can't be matched by any other team in the @NHL

With Evander Kane on his way back to health and a guaranteed NMC, we will see him continue playing with the Oilers. Hopefully, he can stay toward the top of his game and bring the Stanley Cup back to Edmonton.
