NHL analyst Paul Bissonnette is known for having some wild opinions and thoughts and his latest involves the Rangers trading their captain out west.

Former NHL enforcer turned analyst Paul Bissonnette used to do the majority of his talking with his fists during his career, but since transitioning to an analyst role, he's garnered national attention as part of TNT's hockey panel and his renowned 'Spittin' Chiclets' podcast.

It was during the latest show with co-host Ryan Whitney where the man affectionately known as 'Biz-Nasty' ended up asking Whitney if he would want a particular New York Rangers captain in Edmonton:

"100%. I think any team wanting to win would take Trouba. Not as your top defenseman, not on your top pair. But buddy, second pair? He runs around murdering people. That is the type of defenseman we've seen in the past few Cup champs going back awhile now."

Paul Bissonnette agreed with Whitney that Trouba would no doubt make an impact for any club he plays for, his cost may be too pricey:

"I agree with you. But the problem is if I'm not mistaken, he's a $7-8M cap hit?

So at what cap hit are you bringing him in at? Let's say it's half. Why the f*** wouldn't you just sign Broberg?"

Paul Bissonnette is referring to Philip Broberg, who was signed away from Edmonton earlier in the offseason after they declined to match the St. Louis Blues' offer sheet for the young defenseman.

Broberg signed for a reasonable $4.58M cap hit; a reasonable fee considering Trouba would cost more in cap and assets to acquire.

Trouba would undoubtedly help an Edmonton blueline that is highly dependent on Mattias Ekholm and Evan Bouchard.

Jacob Trouba would slide in Troy Stetcher's spot alongside Darnell Nurse and form a scary duo that isn't shy about laying into their opponents.

Trouba, drafted by Winnipeg 9th overall in 2012 has been a solid albeit polarizing defenseman throughout his career.

He has 315 points in 772 games, and currently holds captaincy with the Rangers.

Controversy seems to follow him though as he throws hard hits, but they're often at the cost of the opponent's safety.

He also comes with a lot of baggage, and carries the risk of being suspended or fined any given night, more so than the average player.

He has been suspended twice already to go along with several fines, so it'll be up to Edmonton to try and curb that behavior.

While Trouba is talented no doubt, it seems that he hasn't found the passion he had when he initially came to New York, and a fresh change of scenery and perhaps the chance to play with the world's best player can spark him once again.

It would be interesting to see GM Chris Drury make a move though not unsurprising as the team has been linked to several rumors regarding a potential trade with names like Trouba, Chris Kreider, and Kappo Kakko among them.

Edmonton adding Trouba would be a huge coup for a team who was so close to capturing the Stanley Cup last season and who could use a bit of a boost this season as they sit at 13-9-2 but with an addition like Trouba, could find themselves boosted to the top of the Pacific.

While it remains to be seen if either Chris Drury or Oilers GM Stan Bowman decide to pull the trigger, however Edmonton could use a player like Trouba so long as they don't overpay and Trouba can stay out of trouble.
