An employee of the Florida Panthers has reportedly been fired by the team after revealing a planned rollout of the team's new Stanley Cup inspired center ice logo.

According to Miami-based sports reporter Andy Slater of FOX Sports 640, an unnamed employee was let go by the team after a photo revealed the Panthers new center ice design which modeled the top of the Stanley Cup, which Florida is the current holder.

According to Slater, the Panthers were planning to unveil the design before an image of the ice appeared on social media. The image appears to have first been revealed by David Rodriguez of the 'FLA Cats Hockey Podcast'.

The Panthers have since publicly revealed the new logo for home games at Amerant Bank Arena during the 2024-25 season.

The logo follows a trend set by teams across the league for new logos that fill the entire ice. The Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators will debut new center ice designs for next seasons.

The Florida Panthers won the 2024 Stanley Cup after defeating the Edmonton Oilers in seven games after Edmonton stormed back from a 3-0 Florida lead before the Panthers closed down game 7 for the franchise's first title in their 30 year history.
