Even at age 38, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is still one of the best goalies in the NHL. This was proven in a recent preseason game when Fleury stonewalled one of the most talented players in the NHL Connor Bedard.
With Filip Gustavsson taking the reigns as the starting goalie in Minnesota many people believe Fleury could be on the move. One NHL team has been linked to Fleury the most after a massive injury to their starter.
Reports from NHLTradeRumors.com indicate that the Tampa Bay Lightning could have an interest in Marc-Andre Fleury. The Lightning recently lost Andrei Vasilevskiy to a severe back injury that will keep him out for months.
In the aftermath, several different goalies have been linked to Tampa Bay. NHL Trade Rumors also indicated that Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois has been recently seriously considering making an offer for Fleury.
If the Lightning can swing a trade for Fleury it could give them an opportunity to stay afloat until Vasilevskiy comes back. From the Wild's perspective, they could get some assets for a depreciating player and get prospect goalie Jesper Wallstedt more involved in the team.
