It's been a couple of days since Kirby Dach's scary injury against Chicago, and we've learned very little since then regarding status going forward. Now, as the Canadiens start to prepare for their next match-up, the Habs have dropped a bombshell regarding his injury.

Dach Out Long-Term

The Montreal Canadiens had fans panicked when Kirby Dach didn't take the ice today for their practice. Fans were told an update would be given later in the day, but that update has now arrived earlier than expected.

"Kirby Dach has a significant injury. He's out long-term. Still being diagnosed, more coming in the next few hours or days--according to Habs."

According to the organization, Kirby Dach is out long-term with the lower body injury he sustained the other night. This is heartbreaking news for the Habs, who were enjoying the success of Dach centering Juraj Slafkovsky and Alex Newhook.

With Dach out for the long-term, and fellow center Christian Dvorak on LTIR, that leaves Montreal with Nick Suzuki, Sean Monahan, and Jake Evans as their centers. If the team opts to not call up a player from Laval, it is possible that Alex Newhook could shift to center to fill the void left by Dach.

Get better soon, Kirby!
