The Montreal Canadiens revealed their roster for tonight's game against the New Jersey Devils, which includes Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovsky.

A day after beating the Philadelphia Flyers 5-0, the Habs will host the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre in what promises to be an exciting showdown.

Fans will get to see the team's official first line, with 2022 1st overall pick Slafkovsky, captain Suzuki, and Cole Caufield competing alongside some of the Habs' top prospects, Owen Beck, David Reinbacher, and Logan Mailloux.

Mailloux will be on the ice for the second time in two days, completing a defensive pairing with Jayden Struble. Last night, Mailloux didn't shine as much as he did in the rookie games against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He will have a second chance to show what he can bring to the Canadiens, as he's considered to be in a good position to earn a spot on the regular season lineup.

We will also be following closely David Reinbacher, the Habs' 5th overall pick in 2023. He is likely going to be playing in the AHL next season with the Rocket. But considering that fans only got a small sample of him in North America, there's still some excitement to see him on the top pair with Mike Matheson.

Goaltender Samuel Montembeault should get the start. The projected number one goalie is expected to take a big step this year. With Cayden Primeau and Jakub Dobes slowly climbing up the ladders of the organizational chart, he will need to perform if he wants to stay in Montreal.

Perhaps the only NHL-level line we'll see tonight is the Habs' first line. After spending most of last season building chemistry, it'll be interesting to see where they can take the team this year.

As for the Devils, nothing too exciting awaits fans. Former Habs Jake Allen and Jonathan Kovacevic will be in uniform, but no members of the team's core, such as Nico Hischier, Jack Hughes, or Timo Meier, will be playing.
