Woah, so the Patrick Kane news is real, the #Gohabsgo are linked to Patrick Kane
Jeff Gorton has previously mentioned how they want the Habs to start competing for the playoffs as of next season, and with the acquisition of Patrick Kane, their case can most definitely help.
Kane, a first overall pick in 2007, racked up a solid 47 points in 50 games with the Detroit Red Wings in 2023-2024.
#LGRW are among teams grinding with their UFAs today - and belief is they've made progress with Patrick Kane. But the next 24 hours are going to be wild.
If Kane makes it to market, sources say #GoHabsGo are preparing a pitch for him.
The Canadiens have had a successful weekend already by drafting Ivan Demidov, but they can also add to that with an elite veteran like Patrick Kane. It would be tidy work by GM Kent Hughes.
