The Philadelphia Flyers have had a busy offseason. They hired Danny Briere as their new General Manager. They drafted controversial prospect Matvei Michkov. They have also been connected to a ton of rumors surrounding young goaltender Carter Hart. Now Carter Hart has made a big statement cutting ties with the organization.

Hart Makes Big Social Media Changes

Today it was pointed out that Carter Hart has made some big changes to his social media. He has gone private on Instagram. He has also removed all references to the Philadelphia Flyers from his bio.

This could be nothing but it also could be a big red flag. Hart could just want more privacy heading into a big year for his future. He could also be frustrated with his situation and make a statement to show that frustration.

Are Hart's Days In Philly Numbered?

With all of these rumors and reports in mind Carter Hart could be on his way out of Philadelphia. Hart is only 25 and still has a lot of growth and potential ahead of him. After looking like the next superstar goaltender in the NHL he has struggled the last couple of years. A trade is possible but could be made complicated by outside factors.

Hart was a part of the 2018 Canadian World Juniors Team. This team and its players are still under investigation for the scandal that took place after they won. Until Hart is cleared of any wrongdoing a trade likely won't be completed.

For now, Hart is still a Philadelphia Flyer. He will likely head into training camp with the team. It'll be interesting to see if any development are made in this saga before opening night.
