BREAKING: Leafs Add Physical Young Defenseman
The Maple Leafs' opening roster already seems set, but a new add may make things interesting.
Leafs Sign Benoit
Still 24, Simon Benoit has played three seasons and 137 games for the Anaheim Ducks. The physical defenseman doesn't contribute much offensively, but on a Leafs defense built mostly of offensive guys, he could be a good fit.
Where He Stands
With Connor Timmins and his $1.1-million salary likely hitting waivers, Benoit could see himself as the seventh or eighth defenseman on the Leafs. He could also be a great add for the Marlies.
What do you think of the signing?
