BREAKING: Maple Leafs Forward Named Selke Finalist
The Selke trophy is given to the best defensive forward in the league. It is easily one of the most sought after award as a defensive forward is a rare commodity.
Marner Named Selke Finalist
Last year, Auston Matthews was in the Selke conversation. He wasn't named a finalist, but his two-way game really shined.
However, this season, a Maple Leaf did make it into the top-three - Mitch Marner.
It is seldom that a winger wins the award, and even more unlikely that somebody wouldn't vote for Patrice Bergeron in what could be his final season, but seeing Marner get a top-three bid is incredible.
It's not impossible he gets some Hart votes too!
