BREAKING: Maple Leafs Make Goalie Move Ahead of Game Four
Just hours ahead of game 4 against the Florida Panthers, a game that could end their season if they lose, the Toronto Maple Leafs have made a goaltender move. The team has announced that they've called up Dennis Hildeby from the Toronto Marlies. For now, he's expected to serve as the team's emergency backup goalie (EBUG).
Joseph Woll is slated to start for the Maple Leafs in the absence of Ilya Samsonov, who was injured in game 3. Matt Murray will serve as backup, which marks the first time he's been on the Leafs bench on the post season.
Hildeby was a fourth round pick of Toronto's in 2022. He has not played in the NHL, and has started just three in the AHL.
