Maple Leafs Officially Set to Interview First GM Candidate
The Leafs have set their parameters for who they want to be their next GM. The criteria are experienced as a GM before and being quite competent at their job.
They are now set to interview their first candidates. The following was revealed on Insider Trading with Darren Drager:
It is not surprising that former Flames GM Brad Treliving is the first person interviewed for a position with the Leafs. Treliving held down his job in Calgary for nearly a decade which is twice as long as the average GM which is huge news for the Leafs.
Throughout his time in Calgary, Treliving drafted many great talents including Matthew Tkachuk and Adam Fox both in 2016. He is the top candidate to be the next GM of the Leafs and it is a good move by ownership to target him first.
