One of the most successful undrafted players in history, Mark Giordano has consistently delivered strong performances in the league for nearly twenty years.

Giordano's impressive career achievements include captaining two different teams and earning the Norris trophy as the league's top defenseman. However, now 39, there are reports he is ready for the next chapter of his life.

Contemplating Retirement This Summer

Despite the fact that Giordano has a year left on his bargain contract in Toronto, it's pretty clear that the league's oldest active skater is slowing down.

Giordano, who captained both the Calgary Flames and the Seattle Kraken (for a few months at least), will leave a major mark on the sport, going from being an undrafted free agent to the best defenseman in the league in 2018-19.

While he never won a Stanley Cup as a player, could the hometown boy join the new iteration of Leafs management? It would definitely be fun to see Gio in the front office.
