Former Leafs Assistant GM Top Option For GM Role In Pittsburgh
Kyle Dubas has accepted a role as President of Hockey Operations in Pittsburgh and he may pick a former co-worker to be the Penguins' new GM.
Former Leafs Assistant GM Top Option For GM Role In Pittsburgh
Following the firing of Kyle Dubas, Specialty Assistant GM Jason Spezza also left the Leafs. It appears Spezza was more loyal to Dubas than the Leafs and as an appreciation of this loyalty, Dubas may hire him for a position in Pittsburgh.
While Friedman does not say Dubas would hire Spezza as his next GM, we could certainly expect at least an Assistant GM role in Pittsburgh.
Now Dubas will have a lot of power in finding who will be the next GM of the Penguins. We could see Spezza, Mathieu Darche, Eric Tulsky, or a candidate nobody expects. What do you think?
