Yesterday, during the game against the Montreal Canadiens, a sequence involving the Maple Leafs' top line caught our attention.

The Leafs won a tight game against Montreal. At the start of the third period, Toronto led 3-2, and they almost scored another goal, but Jake Allen made an incredible save.

Then, all hell broke loose.

Bertuzzi Starts a Scrum After the Whistle

Bertuzzi provoked the Habs, and Mike Matheson went after him. Then, every Leaf jumped in to defend their teammate.

Giordano literally jumped in.

Check out the video here:

"Allen makes a great save on Matthews.
Bertuzzi starts a scrum.
Giordano goes airborne."

It's truly great to see teammates defending each other and rallying together for the win, especially in the first game of the season!

When things heat up in the playoffs, the Leafs will need to bring that same energy.

With Domi, Bertuzzi, and Reaves on the team, there's no denying that the intensity will be high all year long.

"Bertuzzi is going to be a warrior come playoff time. What a beauty."
