Insider reveals a William Nylander trade is coming
Online hockey insider "Eklund" has revealed on his website "Hockeybuzz", that the Toronto Maple Leafs want to move William Nylander, preferably before the NHL season starts.
Who are the suitors
Two sources, one in California and the other in Toronto, have informed him that:
«4 Teams, all of whom have at one point or another discussed possible trade ideas with Toronto surrounding William Nylander[,] and one other who just inquired in the last 72 hours.»
»-Toronto did a fine job at staying under the radar temporarily but the word is out that they want very much to move Willyideally by the opener.»
There are apparently four teams that have inquired in the past: those being Minnesota, Colorado, NY Islanders, and New Jersey. It is unknown how a trade will actually work, as all four teams are right against the cap, like Toronto.
A new team that might have emerged recently, is apparently Chicago. The Blackhawks have a lot of cap space, and not a lot of talent on the roster, so Nylander would be a great fit.
The trade may get snagged by Toronto, though.
«The return is the problem. The Leafs want more than anyone wants to payfor certain.»
Nylander Last Year
Nylander is in the last year of his $6.96 million deal, and many Toronto fans grow more and more worried the longer he remains unsigned. Nylander set a career high in points last year with 87 points in 82 games. He also scored 40 goals for the first time in his career.
