The Leafs lost last night after a lackluster overtime where Brad Marchand scored the game-winner and now Leafs fans are turning on their stars.

Marchand Scores The OT Winner

Last night's Leafs rivalry game with the Boston Bruins was a close but fun watch for hockey fans. After the game went to overtime, the Maple Leafs had already secured a point and were looking to clinch the second one. However, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak teamed up to score the overtime winner.

The play started with William Nylander falling and turning the puck over to Brad Marchand who passed to Pastrnak and then got into scoring position to score the game-winner.

Fans quickly pointed out a lack of backcheck from a tired Nylander and Tavares.

"Tavares here, head should be down trying to get back into the picture. Nylander, same thing. Him and Marchand are the two that tangled at center and Marchand ends up beating him to the net and scoring the winner."

This angle of Tavares' backcheck has gone viral with fans quick to call out the captain's nonexistent urgency.

At best Tavares gave a few leisurely strides and was clearly flat-footed. If he and Nylander had back-checked harder, despite it being the end of their shift and they were tired, they could have gotten in the way and helped prevent Marchand from scoring.

With this loss, the Leafs now have 28 points on the year and are 4th in the Atlantic division. Hopefully, Tavares and Nylander can find their heart for winning and prove they want to bring the cup back to Toronto.
