The Toronto Maple Leafs will be participating in the Traverse City Prospects Tournament starting today. As part of the game day festivities the Maple Leafs top line has been announced.
Maple Leafs Loading Up For Game 1
According to reports top prospects Matthew Knies and Fraser Minten looked to be paired up together on the top line.
Both players are coming off of very successful seasons. Minten, a 2022 second round pick, played 57 games and had 67 points in the WHL last season. Knies on the other hand played 40 games in the NCAA and tallied 42 points. He then went on to have a great debut with the Leafs down the stretch last year.
Leafs Prospects Look To Shine Through Doubt
At the time that Matthew Knies and Fraser Minten were drafted the picks were faced with a lot of doubt and uncertainty. Much like this year's first round pick Easton Cowan.
Since being drafted both have shown that they are worthy of being selected where they were. This tournament will be an opportunity for them both along with Cowan to prove the doubters wrong and the Maple Leafs right.
The Maple Leafs will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets today at 3:30 eastern in their first game of the tournament.
