Matthew Knies leaves Game 2 after being head slammed by Sam Bennett
The Toronto Maple Leafs have lost one of their top assets in Game 2 following a stunning injury.
The Leafs have confirmed Forward Matthew Knies will not return to the game, following a collision with Panthers Foward Sam Bennett in the First Period.
Bennett appears in the play to push Knies into the boards, and then grabbing him by the neck, throwing the rookie to the ground on the ice.
Knies did not return for period 2, and the Leafs did not confirm the injury, or it's severity.
Toronto now loses one of their top offensive talents against Florida, Knies already started his playoffs as a replacement for the then-suspended Michael Bunting, and now finds himself gone from the Leafs lineup indefinitely.
