Tavares Scores 1000th Point Against Former Team

Last night, the Maple Leafs were visiting the Islanders, and Tavares reached an impressive milestone during the game: he registered his 1000th career point.

Not only that, he scored his 1000th point with seven seconds left in the game, forcing an overtime period.

When he scored, the Leafs' bench cleared, and players joined their captain for the celebration, all this under relentless boos from the fans.

They didn't think about congratulating him, even though he scored 621 points for the Islanders. He became the 98th player in NHL history to reach this milestone.

The renowned Paul Bissonnette wasn't too happy about that.

The Spittin Chiclets host and TNT analyst took to X to share his thoughts on the way Islanders' fans treated their former captain.

"What a disgrace. Islanders fans are clowns. Booing a guy who gave his left nut to your organization. No wonder he left. Classless. Now we're going to pump your eyes shut in OT."
