Lack of Response from the Maple Leafs After Liljegren's Injury Criticized by Fans
Timothy Liljegren's injury made headlines for many reasons.
Not only was it a dirty play by Brad Marchand, but the whole team looked bad after the incident.
Tyler Bertuzzi's reaction wasn't appreciated by Leafs fans:
And last but not least, Ryan Reaves was criticized for his lack of response after the injury.
Reaves Makes Statement After Liljegren's Injury
Reaves' reputation as one of the NHL's top enforcers came after many years of fighting and disturbing his opponents.
When Liljegren was injured, Reaves said a few things from the bench, but nothing more.
Treliving brought him in for this specific reason. If Reaves doesn't stand up for teammates when he's injured, why is he here?
Reaves commented in a recent interview:
It's great to know that he learned and that it won't happen again, but we'll believe it when we see it.
