Keefe Says Leafs Have Other Stuff Happening to the Lineup
The Toronto Maple Leafs roster has been in flux over the last few days, as players have gone out with illness and some are on the verge of returning from injury. As a result, gameday skates and line rushes look different nearly every game.
When asked about tonight's lineup, Keefe went beyond just saying they were evaluating the team's health and said that they had some other things going on, which raised the eyebrows of Leaf fans.
With the Leafs being the favourites to be in line for a trade for a defenseman, many are speculating that this was what Keefe was hinting at. Others have speculated that more players are playing through the Flu going around.
Leafs Defenseman Close to His Return to the Lineup As Well
Timothy Liljegren has been out for roughly 6 weeks with his high ankle sprain suffered during the Leafs game against the Bruins. Sheldon Keefe has confirmed that Liljegren is close to returning to the lineup, but needs a few full practices first.
His return will keep the Leafs lineup in flux, not to mention any trade movement. We will see how things shake out tonight against the Blue Jackets.
