Among all the players placed on waivers, there are three former Leafs players: Keaton Middleton (Colorado Avalanche), Adam Gaudette (St. Louis Blues), and Riley Nash (New York Rangers).

"Placed on NHL waivers today: Keaton Middleton (COL), Spencer Smallman (COL), Alex Belzile (NYR), Anton Blidh (NYR), Turner Elson (NYR), Ty Emberson (NYR), Connor Mackey (NYR), Riley Nash (NYR), and Adam Gaudette (STL)."

Middleton was drafted by Toronto in 2016 but never played for the Leafs; Gaudette played 40 games for the Marlies last season, and Nash played two playoff games with the Leafs in 2021.

We will know within the next 24 hours if they're claimed or go down to the AHL.

Updates will follow.
