The NCAA Frozen Four is rapidly approaching, this could mean that the Leafs could add Matthew Knies to their roster for the weekend.

Assuming that the University of Minnesota losses to Canisius College in the first.

However, the most likely scenario is that the University of Minnesota will win the championship, which would free up Knies to join the Leafs on the 9th of April.

Matthews comments on Knies

When asked about Knies joining the Leafs, Auston Matthews stated that:

"Hopefully the year he's had gives him some confidence ... it's quite a jump, but he's a mature young guy & we'll do everything we can to help him & give him the best opportunity to succeed."

Matthew Knies, the 6'3 forward, has recorded 41 points in 36 games with Minnesota.

He has shown off his abilitiews, size and skill many times. Matthews did point out that the jump from the NCAA to the NHL is pretty big, but fans hope that his transition to the NHL will be smooth.
