It's a big game for Toronto against the Golden Knights on Wednesday night, as the team is trying to balance a winning streak amongst a sea of injuries to key players, with Max Domi the newest victim to land on the IR.
Toronto is 5-1-0 in their last six games and winning back-to-back nail-biters in overtime, they have all the momentum even with their many setbacks.
A lot of lineup shuffling has been done in order to fit everyone in appropriately, and the key factor going into this game against Vegas was who would be starting.
Anthony Stolarz has been lights out this season, and Joseph Woll is picking things up after a slow start.
So it's a tough decision, but Berube is putting faith into his young netminder in a crucial game.
Not only is Woll going to have to stand on his head, but he will have to make sure he can contain the Golden Knights a bit more since Jani Hakanpaa is taking the night off.
It's a special night for the Maple Leafs however, as they get the season debut of Fraser Minten and the NHL debut of highly-touted prospect Nikita Grebenkin.
Both men can make a big impact with the club and it would be great to see them take the reigns and lead the Maple Leafs bottom six.
Toronto will be in tough against a Vegas squad that comes into Scotiabank Arena with an 11-5-2 record and led by Jack Eichel and Mark Stone who have a combined 49 points.
Vegas will also have a a debut on Wednesday night, as they announced that Cal Burke will start against the Maple Leafs.
Burke hasn't had much of a chance so far in the NHL so it's great to see the former NCAA standout, and it will surely be a night to remember for everyone involved: Minten, Grebenkin, and Burke.
It will be up to the Toronto blueline to shut down any potential offense the Golden Knights throw at them. With Chris Tanev and Jake McCabe standing in everybody's way, they have a good chance of coming out with another victory.
Toronto takes on the Vegas Golden Knights from Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM ET.
