Called up in the wake of David Kampf's injury, and it being his GM's last resort, Fraser Minten came into Wednesday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights with one goal in mind: To make an impact.
With only four NHL games to his name and no points, Minten had a chance to do something big for the Maple Leafs in the wake of all their injuries.
Well, he certainly accomplished something and it only took him six seconds to do it too.
Minten scored his first career NHL goal in only his third shift in the game and being on the ice for a total of six seconds.
He made a line change with Pontus Holmberg, skated into the offensive zone and took a gorgeous pass from William Nylander to bury it past Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill.
Minten looked elated as he raised his stick in triumph after giving Toronto the 1-0 lead early in the first period.
Minten made the entirety of Leafs Nation explode with his goal, as many fans were unbelievably excited for the Maple Leafs top prospect.
Minten isn't the only one making a debut tonight.
Nikita Grebenkin is making his NHL debut for the Maple Leafs after earning the call up due to Max Domi's injury and is playing on Minten's wing, so perhaps he can also benefit from this offensive punch.
You have to think that Minten has potentially already earned his spot back with the Maple Leafs and it took no time at all.
Playing with a purpose, and equally as good defensively as he is offensively, it's a treat to watch Minten and it's exciting to see if he can add any more goals to his resume tonight.
Minten didn't stop his scoring ways, as he's had 4 points in 5 games after returning from injury, and as Leafs Nation has bravely waited for his time to shine, it looks like finally it's about to happen.
Congratulations Fraser, I'm sure it's the first of what are going to be hundreds more to come and Leafs fans can't wait to see you break out.
Toronto ended up getting the shutout victory over the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 thanks to a fantastic effort from Joseph Woll.
