Good News for the Maple Leafs and Ryan O'Reilly
Ryan O'Reilly's Future.
Ryan O'Reilly's future has been at the center of many debates. Fans and analysts don't agree on a crucial matter: will he stay in Toronto?
That depends of Brad Treliving and O'Reilly's camp.
The Leafs have almost no cap space and if O'Reilly wans to stay in Toronto, he might need to accept a lower salary.
There's been a new development on that issue.
O'Reilly Open to Negotiate
Yesterday, it was reported that O'Reilly hasn't close the door to Treliving.
Per Pierre LeBrun:
"When you heard O'Reilly on locker cleanout day it sounded like he was moving on, but what we found out yesterday was that O'Reilly and his camp have not closed the door on returning to the Leafs.
On top of that, Brad Treliving has reached out to them and said they have interest in talking about it. Most Leaf fans thought he was gone, but he's got a pretty open mind about it.
Treliving really likes O'Reilly and what he brings, but at the end of the day it would have to make sense in the cap puzzle for the Leafs. Both sides are supposed to talk again next week in Nashville."
As the opening of the free agents market approaches, the situation with O'Reilly will certainly develop in a near future.
