Insider Reveals Shocking Price Maple Leafs Must Pay for Blues Captain Brayden Schenn
A new report reveals that a potential major return from the Toronto Maple Leafs for Brayden Schenn, and it may not be enough.
With a very public pursuit for Brayden Schenn from the Leafs, media reports have made it known that getting a top center is something Toronto is serious about getting done ahead of Friday's trade deadline, something rival teams are taking advantage of.
New reporting from TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reveals the believed heavy asking price from the St. Louis Blues, and why it may be a complete grab at the Leafs top future pieces.
Darren Dreger's Outrageously Expensive Trade Package

According to Dreger, a deal involving all three of Easton Cowan, Fraser Minten, & Ben Danford in a return for Brayden Schenn may still not be enough for a deal to be agreed upon by the Blues, and could require more pieces.
Dreger broke down on Insider Trading why the Blues may try to force the Leafs hand and appear reluctant to move on from Schenn without a blockbuster return.
I think Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs are as eager as ever to acquire that number two centre or worst case, the number three centre.
But I don't think that the targets have changed a whole lot despite the reality of where the St. Louis Blues are and that's right near the playoff line in the Western Conference. Treliving is going to continue to push Doug Armstrong and end until he says, 'we're not trading the captain.'
And then you've got, of course, Brock Nelson, you've got Scott Laughton and you have some other options, but for me it's that 1-2 scenario between Schenn and Brock Nelson.
Would Toronto consider trading all three of their young prospects? You're talking about Easton Cowan, Fraser Minten and Ben Danford for Brayden Schenn. Is that even enough?
And the belief out there is as long as Armstrong is willing to listen that means that he's absolutely fishing and shopping for an unbelievable return, and if it's not Toronto, is it a team that is willing to also give roster players, right?
Because the players that I've mentioned out of Toronto aren't ready to be NHL roster players, so still looking at Schenn and then Brock Nelson for Toronto. It would appear that the Blues, reluctant to move on from their captain, are pushing for a major return to justify doing so, or are trying to set the goal of telling teams Schenn is a player St. Louis GM Doug Armstrong isn't willing to budge without a bang.
With the Blues not far out of a playoff position and rumors that Doug Armstrong is going to potentially stand pat and push for a spot; that price seems nearly impossible to pay.
With little time remaining until the trade market is closed, the Toronto Maple Leafs are faced with giving up their future to potentially win right-now.
Clock's ticking Brad.
