The Toronto Maple Leafs were once again eliminated in heartbreaking fashion in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This time it was at the hands of David Pastrnak and the Boston Bruins. Since the end of the game fans and media have been critiquing the effort of Mitch Marner on the play.

The game-winning goal for the Boston Bruins against the Toronto Maple Leafs came on a rush play in overtime. Many fans are furious with forward Mitch Marner for not picking up David Pastrnak in transition leaving him all alone to walk in and score the heartbreaking goal.

Mitch Marner had a rough series by all accounts. Fans have been calling for him to be gone before Game 7 even began. This also included analyst Paul Bissonnette who went in on Mitch Marner in previous games for his play.

Biz just absolutely torched Mitch Marner's performance

With the season over and the Maple Leafs expected to make big changes this offseason the first likely move is a Mitch Marner trade. The fan base has turned on him and his style just seems to not fit in Toronto anymore.

As the offseason begins it will be interesting to see how intense the trade rumors get before Mitch Marner is potentially finally moved.
