This evening shortly before the Toronto Maple Leafs game the team has made a major change to their lineup for tonight.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are coming off of a difficult loss to the St. Louis Blues but have a chance to rebound tonight against the Minnesota Wild. Reports coming in this evening from David Alter have confirmed a last-minute switch to the lineup is being made by Craig Berube. The Toronto Maple Leafs will be scratching Pontus Holmberg tonight against the Minnesota Wild.

The decision to scratch Pontus Holmberg is one that seems to be made at the very last moment. The move was originally announced that another player for the Toronto Maple Leafs would be the scratch leading to a lot of confusion during warmups.

Maple Leafs make a last minute switch to their lineup against the Wild

Originally it was slated that Bobby McMann would be the scratched forward tonight for the Maple Leafs. Both players played and struggled last night against the Blues and were candidates to come out of the lineup causing major confusion for reporters in the arena.

However, according to the NHL's official rosters that they provide for the game it will indeed be Pontus Holmberg out of the lineup. Bobby McMann will get his opportunity to earn his spot in the lineup going forward.

Either way, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to get back on track after a tough loss to the St. Louis Blues. They will go up against a Minnesota Wild club tonight which has been playing well and is currently second in the Central Division.

It will be interesting to see if Craig Berube and the coaching staff made the right decision in scratching Pontus Holmberg or if they should've stuck with the scratch of Bobby McMann.
