Heading into Boston after a back-to-back that saw the Maple Leafs come away with two victories, they'll be looking to keep the pressure on their long-time rivals and try to extend their lead in the Atlantic Division.
The team is going to need some solid protection in the crease for Tuesday's game, so it's unsurprising to see the team name Anthony Stolarz as the starter.
It's a sign that Stolarz is not only back to full health for certain, but that he could be the one Toronto turns to when it comes to making sure they have a strong and deep playoff push.
It's been such a refreshing bit of change for the Maple Leafs this season and they finally have some reliable goaltending for once.
A lot of that is due to the play of Stolarz, who has come in and been fantastic for Craig Berube's team and if he hadn't gotten injured could have been in Vezina contention.
In 19 starts, Stolarz is 11-5-2 with a 2.13 GAA and .928 SV% and is coming off a Stanley Cup win with the Florida Panthers last season.
It's the fact that he came back after from over a month away and came out with a near shutout in his return game and showed the exact same form he had before getting hurt.
It's not that Joseph Woll has been bad, but he's definitely handled the bulk of the workload this season and with Stolarz being as good as he is, the Leafs need to ride him as much as possible.
Woll has been great in a much heavier slate this season. In 31 games, he has a 20-11-0 record with a 2.63 GAA and .910 SV%; very respectable numbers and given another year could push Woll into elite territory.
But for this season, Stolarz has been the hot hand and often keeps Toronto in games, even when their defense falters. If Brad Treliving can add some blueline help for his goalie, it'll make Stolarz's job a little easier.
Which would be great news for the Maple Leafs, as a healthy and protected Stolarz is a dangerous one; especially come playoff time.
