The Toronto Maple Leafs may not have done much at the trade deadline, but they're preparing for a deep playoff run, and now one of their top rookies has revealed a surprising answer to who he would want to face in the first-round of the playoffs.
When asked recently about who Knies would want to face in the playoffs, the rookie showed no hesitation in revealing that he wants another shot at the Boston Bruins.
"I'm hoping we get another crack at those guys, and I think it's gonna make for a good series." - Knies on his desire to play Boston in round one.
Knies made a solid debut in the playoffs a season ago, helping the team end a 19-year playoff series win drought against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and with a full year under his belt, he's going to be much better this time around.
Could there be a better matchup in round one?
While this wouldn't be the easiest matchup for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the two sides have played some heated games this season, and with the likes of Reaves, Marchand, Domi, Bertuzzi and McAvoy, as well as all the stars on both sides, it would be a huge win for hockey fans.
The Bruins have struggled to go deep in the playoffs for a number of years, and fresh off a round one victory a year ago, the Maple Leafs are optimistic that they can go one, two or even three better in 2023-24, and it's highly unlikely that Knies is the only one that wants Boston.
