Mitch Marner appears to have made his mind up regarding his future with the Toronto Maple Leafs ahead of constant rumors about his potential availability on the market.

According to Sportsnet NHL analyst Justin Bourne, Leafs star Mitch Marner has indicated to the team his preference to stay with the Toronto Maple Leafs, at least for next season until he hits free agency.

Marner, on the final year next season of a $10.9M deal, will likely wait out his next contract, focusing on next season in Toronto, he's reportedly expressed. Marner hasn't given indication that his goal is to leave Toronto or be moved elsewhere.

In an interview in The Athletic, Leafs general manager Brad Treliving said to «be very, very careful of what you read out there,», while mentioning Marner's NMC as a focal point in any move involving the winger.

«Mitch controls a lot of this whole thing (with the no-trade). If there's a way to make our team better, we're going to do it. But we're certainly not going to make a trade just so we can pound our chest and say, Look, we're different.'»

Marner, 27, had 26 goals, 59 assists & 85 points in 69 games for the Toronto Maple Leafs this season. In 576 career games with Toronto in 8 seasons, Marner has 194 goals, 445 assists & 639 points. Marner is a 3x NHL All-Star, having earned the nod in the past two seasons.
