Brad Treliving begins addressing Auston Matthews' contract Immediately
Brad Treliving got right to work with Toronto to make sure he has a sense of what to do this offseason and get his top players signed.
Hockey is a fast-paced sport and the NHL is an even faster-paced business. With announcing the Leafs hiring Brad Treliving earlier today, he has already gotten right to work.
In an article from earlier today, Leafs reporter Luke Fox shared that Treliving has already reached out to Auston Matthews' agent Judd Moldaver to discuss the former MVP's next contract.
Brad Treliving has experience working with superstars dealing with Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk last offseason.
Knowing what it is like to get burned by a top notch player, Brad Treliving will not hesitate to sell Matthews on the trade block if the negotiations go nowhere.
Brad Treliving is also notoriously good at negotiating contracts and brokering trades so do not be surprised if we see the Leafs broker a trade in the near future if Matthews' contract talks are not progressing.
