In a new interview, Nick Robertson finally faced the media after accidentally hurting William Nylander in preseason game.

Last night, the Maple Leafs were back in the Scotiabank Arena in front of their fans and managed to earn their first win of the preseason. The Montreal Canadiens were visiting, and even without any of their top players, they brought a lot of energy and competed fiercly against the Leafs.

Nicholas Robertson scored the game-winning goal with his great playreading skills and agility. Check it out:

Unfortunately, Craig Berube may have won his first game as the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he lost William Nylander to an injury.

A few minutes after his goal, a standard maneuver by Robertson led to Nylander falling on the ice and colliding head first with Montreal Canadiens center Christian Dvorak.

Nylander returned to the locker room and never returned on the ice.

Watch the incident here:

After the game, Robertson' didn't feel good at all, despite head coach Berbube confirming that there's "nothing to worry about" Nylander's injury.

David Alter reported the news on X:

Robertson added that he felt like "the elephant in the room", but that he talked to Nylander and he's doing good.

"It's unfortunate, I was trying to give him a little boost there and it is what it is. I talked to him and he's doing good, we'll see how he is for the next few days."

Robertson signed a one-year deal with the Maple Leafs a few weeks ago and looks to get a fresh start under Craig Berube. Let's hope that he'll be able to continue to play well despite being under the spotlight for the bad reasons.
