According to reports, the Toronto Maple Leafs are close to re-signing one of their key players.
Leafs appear to be nearing Deal with fan favorite
According to NHL Reporter Rick Dhaliwal, the Leafs are close to an extension for Defenseman Luke Schenn.
Luke Schenn, 33, was acquired from the Vancouver Canucks this season, returning to Toronto since he last played for the team in 2012, having been drafted 5th overall by the Leafs in 2008.
Schenn has been respected by fans for his defensive play for Toronto since being traded for, with the Defenseman being a locker room leader for the team.
Reports say that Schenn will sign in Toronto soon
A source has confirmed to Maple Leafs Insider that Luke Schenn is nearing a deal, although the terms, if any are set, are not known, but the likelihood is that it will be a short-term deal, but that has not been confirmed.
Luke Schenn, a right-handed Defenseman, had 1 Point in 15 Games for Toronto this season. Schenn has played 325 Games for the Leafs, playing 310 between 2009-2012.
