Sidney Crosby, Mitch Marner, Craig Berube all spotted at same Toronto restaurant
Sidney Crosby is expected to sign an extension with the Pittsburgh Penguins on July 1st, but nothing is confirmed. He was spotted at a Toronto restaurant, where Craig Berube and Mitch Marner met this week.
Sidney Crosby has been the face of the Pittsburgh Penguins ever since being drafted first overall in 2005. Reports indicate that he will sign an extension as soon as July 1st! In the last nineteen years, he has led the team to three Stanley Cups, and has entrenched himself into NHL history.
Sidney Crosby said he'll talk with Kyle Dubas this summer about a potential extension.
Said his body still feels good. Hasn't thought about how much longer he'd like to play. #Pens
It is hard to imagine him ever leaving the Pittsburgh Penguins, but it is far from impossible considering the team is in no-mans land, and has missed the playoffs by only a point in two consecutive seasons. If Sidney Crosby wants to chase another cup, it will have to be with another team.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are the most primed team in the league to bring in a superstar like Crosby for two reasons; for one, their GM, Kyle Dubas, spent nearly a decade with the team, and is likely higher on Mitch Marner than any other manager in the league. The other is that it is a desirable original six market, and features the best sniper in the league in Auston Matthews.
All this considered, Sidney Crosby being at 'One' restaurant in Toronto, which has become the Maple Leafs' home restaurant, while it may be a coincidence, could mean more. Could he have possibly been there to meet with Craig Berube or Brad Treliving?
