Tom Wilson had a questionable high-stick on Noah Gregor during last night's Leafs versus Capitals game which could land him a suspension.

Tom Wilson isn't the cleanest player in the NHL, that is for sure. He has a history of suspensions and is well known for toeing the line of playing dirty. Now, it looks like he may be questioned about a play during last night's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, after he high-sticked Noah Gregor.

During the play, it appeared that Wilson just caught Gregor high, however, the replay shows that, at best, Wilson was careless swinging his stick, and at worst, had some intention behind the move.

Tom Wilson was assessed a double-minor for this high-stick on Noah Gregor.

Do you think he deserves additional punishment?

The high stick has brought back memories for Leaf fans of Morgan Rielly's suspension. Not that the plays are that similar, but because of how the NHL explained the suspension. Bettman had said that Rielly's suspension was based on the fact that he used his stick as a weapon, and some are saying this is what Wilson looks like he is doing as well.

If Gary Bettman said Rielly «used his stick as a weapon» then what the hell is this?

Parros better do his job after he was questioned during GM meetings.

Rielly's suspension is obviously different, as it came at the end of the game during a stoppage of play. However, he received 5 games for his actions. Wilson is either doing this intentionally or has no care for his stick. This should land him some supplemental punishment.

Either way, the Leafs were able to overcome the adversity and trounce the Capitals in a nice 7-3 win. The game was spotlighted by the Leafs top line which included Max Domi, as he and Auston Matthews put up 9 points combined. This is a sigh of relief for Leaf fans, who have been worried that without Mitch Marner, the Leafs would struggle to score.

Now, it appears the Leafs are finding their grove without Marner, and can afford to have Marner rest as much as needed. This should allow him to fully recover from the difficult ankle injury that he is facing, and that has not rehabilitated as well as the Leafs had thought.
