It was just announced by insider Darren Dreger that the Toronto Maple Leafs look to be signing Stanley Cup winning defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are making waves today and another move they will make before the end of the day is signing Oliver Ekman-Larsson away from the Florida Panthers.
Unless something changes expect OEL to help bolster the Leafs blueline as well.

Ekman-Larsson will be the second defenseman that the Leafs will add this offseason behind Chris Tanev who they have signed to a six-year deal.
Chris Tanev, signed 6x$4.5M by TOR, is a high-end defence-first veteran defenceman who combines stabilizing play in his own end with excellent puck-moving skill. Sacrifices the body to block shots and plays through pain. Was terrific in the 2024 playoffs.

We will now wait and see the details of Ekman-Larsson's contract with the Maple Leafs. He was a powerplay specialist for the Panthers during their run to Stanley Cup victory and proved to be quite effective in a sheltered role.
