According to Leafs News Nation, with the potential rest days coming throughout the year for Ryan Reaves and Mark Giordano, there's one thing the Leafs need to add, and that's a waiver exempt defenseman.
This would allow that rest and for the Leafs to have some extra depth on their squad, and now, they've identified three possible candidates: Winnipeg's Ville Heinola, the Knights Kaeden Korczac and the Flyers Ronnie Attard.
That report believes that the best player to move from the Leafs would be Conor Timmins, who may have just signed a deal with the team, but is likely the most expendable piece on the blue line.
While nothing appears to be imminent, this is the exact type of move that Toronto need for depth and flexibility, and if they want to allow themselves the most rest days for their veterans with the ability to pick up future assets, a trade of Timmins makes plenty of sense.
