The Toronto Maple Leafs have two potential major losses during the team's practice.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are without defenseman Brandon Carlo in practice after last night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Also absent from the team currently following the win is starting goalie Anthony Stolarz, who did not appear to participate in practice.
It's unknown if Stolarz is out for any injury related reasons or as a precaution. In the meantime, Cayden Primeau practiced as the team's starter with Joseph Woll backing him up.
The Toronto Maple Leafs play the Utah Mammoth, with Craig Berube likely to update on the two absent players afterwards.
Craig Berube Gives No Immediate Update on Carlo or Stolarz After Physical Battle in Pittsburgh
There's no current update on the status of either Brandon Carlo or Anthony Stolarz, with it remaining to be seen what has kept them out of practice.
As pointed out, Carlo blocked six shots in the Leafs 4-3 comeback win against the Penguins, having dealt with a heavy workload defensively.
Toronto is already without Chris Tanev on defense, out after being injured on his return from a concussion, feared to have potentially suffered another setback.
In Carlo's absence, Dakota Mermis is on the Leafs top line, an indication that Carlo may just be out as maintenence and isn't seriously hurt, although it'll be something that potentially isn't known until tomorrow.
Whatever the case, the injury to Carlo would be a second loss for the Leafs blueline, but Stolarz a massive loss to the team in net, especially if Joseph Woll isn't ready to step in just yet.
Toronto will be looking to avoid what would be two major blows to their lineup, and two players they can't afford out of the team's lineup.
